What is a buffer colony?

History
1 answer:
levacccp [35]4 years ago

A buffer colony - like Georgia, for example - was founded because colonists wanted a "buffer zone" (any area that serves the purpose of keeping two or more other areas distant from one another.) between the British colonies and other settlements. Georgia, specifically, was founded to protect South Carolina against attack by the Spanish, the french and the Indians.

I hope this is useful.

What was a motivation for capitalist societies to control trade routes in parts of the world previously unknown to them?
Nataly [62]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

Control a heavily desired or needed supply/luxury that is only known to exist in 1 part of the world, and you have a monopoly on it, and you can control the price to your liking, and other countries can't do anything about it, so if they want it, they'll have to pay the price you set.
