He had feared that this agreement would break the union. He stated that slavery is a very serious issue which needs to address very carefully. He further stated that the next generation is the one who can end this issue (human slavery).The views of the Thomas Jefferson on the issue of slavery are composite. He criticized the practice of slavery and work harder to end it. Jefferson strongly opposed the Missouri Compromise/ agreement.

Martin Luther King on the other hand wanted non-violent protests to try to get rid of the awful segregation. King said this about malcom x's civil rights movements. "a bunch of thugs organized from prisons and jails and financed, I am sure, by some Arab group." They both wanted the same thing which was freedom but one wanted to integrate with white people, and the other one didn't.
