Answer:

Explanation:

To better understand the content being presented in their core subject areas, it is essential for students

to learn to think critically and to ask higher levels of questions. By asking higher levels of questions,

students deepen their knowledge and create connections to the material being presented, which in turn

prepares them for the inquiry that occurs in tutorials. Students need to be familiar with Costa’s (and/or

Bloom’s) levels of questioning to assist them in formulating and identifying higher levels of questions.

Directions: Read the poem below and review the “Three House Story” on the next page. Both set the

stage for Costa’s Levels of Questioning.

One-Two-Three Story Intellect Poem

There are one-story intellects,

two-story intellects,

and three-story intellects with skylights.

All fact collectors who have

no aim beyond their facts

are one-story people.

Two-story people compare, reason,

generalize, using the labor of

fact collectors as their own.

Three-story people idealize,

imagine, predict—their best illumination

comes through the skylight.

Adapted from a quotation by Oliver Wendell Holmes

The Three-Story House

On a separate piece of paper, fill in the rhetorical triangle for Kennedy's address. Describe your three rhetorical elements in
Klio2033 [76]

Answer and Explanation:

The rhetorical triangle is a diagram in the form of a triangle that where each edge represents one of the rhetorical elements of aristoteles, pathos, logos and ethos. This triangle shows how these three elements must be interconnected within a discourse.

We can use an example of a rhetorical triangle in Kennedy's inaugural speech, where he uses pathos to evoke the emotional side of his audience, expressing his commitment to the nation, the responsibility that the country has as a powerful nation and the country's commitment to smaller nations. He uses ethos to show that his actions will be aimed at social welfare, within the norms and moral values preached in the country as correct. He also uses logos, to show how nations must be allied with the USA in order to prosper, to have aid and not to generate conflicts and wars that only bring sadness.

The rhetoric triangle is attached.
