In this excerpt from "Ambush", by Tim O'Brien, the word that best helps establish the tone is <em>C. fog</em>. In this excerpt, the author recounts his experience when he saw the young soldier coming out of the morning fog with an ammunition belt. Without thinking, O'Brien pulled the key of the grenade, and the soldier was killed by it. Twenty years from that moment he still thinks of it and imagines the soldier passing by.

Speaking Of Courage means
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

It explores the way that telling stories simultaneously recalls the pain of the war experience and allows soldiers to work through that pain after the war has ended. O'Brien and Bowker illustrate how speaking or not speaking about war experience affects characters.

What is the speaker's point of view about his memories in the poem from this room"
Darina [25.2K]

The author presents a nostalgic and cozy point of view on his memories.

<h3>What is "This Room?"</h3>
  • It's about change.
  • It's about difficulties and evolution.
  • It's about becoming a new person.

The poem is a great metaphor for change and personal evolution that does not come easily. In this poem, the speaker shows how he is changing, he is not recognizing himself and he no longer presents the comfort he had before.

In this way, the speaker sees himself in the past as something cozy and peaceful. These memories don't look like the chaotic, under-construction environment it is today.

It is important to remember that the metaphor is an implicit comparison and in the poem, the speaker compares himself to a room being renovated.
