Answer: $0.58

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent pencil and y represent eraser

10x + 7y = 4.23   →   1(10x + 7y = 4.23)   →   10x + 7y =  4.23

3x  + y  = 0.95   →  -3(3x  + y  = 0.95)   →   -21x - 7y = -6.65

                                                                    -11x         = -2.42

                                                                  ÷-11             ÷-11

                                                                         x        = 0.22

      3x + y = 0.95

3(0.22) + y = 0.95

   0.66 + y = 0.95

               y = 0.29

2y = 2(0.29)  = 0.58

Deon rented a truck for one day there was a base fee of $19.99 and there was an additional charge of 98 cents for each mile driv
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

Deon drove the truck 201 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Base Fee + (.98* Number of miles)= Cost

19.99 + .98x = 216.97

Subtract 19.99 from both sides.

.98x = 196.98

Divide both sides by .98

x = 201

In one school, half of all students who like math like science as well. Also, in that school, a third of all students who like s
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have 'x' students who like math and 'y' students that like science, we can formulate that:

Half of x likes math and science, and also one third of y likes math and science, so:

(1/2) * x = (1/3) * y

x / y = (1/3) / (1/2)

x / y = (1/3) * 2 = 2/3

So the ratio of the number of students who like math to the number of students who like science is 2/3
