Answer: 24 cups of  orange juice, 48 cups of range juice and 72 cup of lemon juice.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, Here 4 cups pineapple juice, 8 cups of Orange juice, and 12 cups of lemon lime soda are used in order to make 18 servings of punch.

Therefore, total number of cups in order to make 18 servings of punch = 24

In which the ratio of cups of pineapple juice, cups of Orange juice and cups of lemon lime soda is,

4 : 8 : 12 = 1 : 2 : 3

Now, If 18 servings of punch = 24 cups

⇒ 1 serving of punch = 24/ 18 cups

⇒ 108 serving of punch = \frac{24}{18} \times 108 = 144 cups

That is, 108 cups of punch require 144 cups, in which the ratio of cups of pineapple juice, cups of Orange juice and cups of lemon lime soda is 1 : 2 : 3.

Therefore, cups of pineapple juice in 108 punch = \frac{1}{6} \times 144 = 24

Cups of Orange juice in 108 punch = \frac{2}{6} \times 144 = 48

And, Cups of lemon lime soda in 108 punch = \frac{3}{6} \times 144 = 72

15. Apply Mathematics (1)(A) Suppose you have a box with a 4 X 4-in.
erastova [34]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula for calculating the surface area of the box S = 2(LW+LH+WH) where

L is the length of the box

W is the width of the box

H is the height of the box

If the box is square based with dimension 4 * 4in, then L = W = 4in. substituting this values given into the formula we will have;

S = 2(4(4)+4H + 4H)

S = 2(16+8H)

S = 32+16H

<em>Hence, The function that represents the surface area of this box as a </em>

<em>function of its height is S = 32+16H where H is the height of the box</em>

<em></em>

Given H = 6.5in, to evaluate the function, we will substitute h = 6.5in into the modeled equation;

S = 32+16H

S = 32+16(6.5)

S = 32+106

<em>S = 138in²</em>

<em>Hence the total surface area of the box is 138in²</em>

The triangle T has vertices at (-2, 1), (2, 1) and (0,-1). (It might be an idea to
Firdavs [7]

Rewrite the boundary lines <em>y</em> = -1 - <em>x</em> and <em>y</em> = <em>x</em> - 1 as functions of <em>y </em>:

<em>y</em> = -1 - <em>x</em>  ==>  <em>x</em> = -1 - <em>y</em>

<em>y</em> = <em>x</em> - 1  ==>  <em>x</em> = 1 + <em>y</em>

So if we let <em>x</em> range between these two lines, we need to let <em>y</em> vary between the point where these lines intersect, and the line <em>y</em> = 1.

This means the area is given by the integral,

\displaystyle\iint_T\mathrm dA=\int_{-1}^1\int_{-1-y}^{1+y}\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy

The integral with respect to <em>x</em> is trivial:

\displaystyle\int_{-1}^1\int_{-1-y}^{1+y}\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy=\int_{-1}^1x\bigg|_{-1-y}^{1+y}\,\mathrm dy=\int_{-1}^1(1+y)-(-1-y)\,\mathrm dy=2\int_{-1}^1(1+y)\,\mathrm dy

For the remaining integral, integrate term-by-term to get

\displaystyle2\int_{-1}^1(1+y)\,\mathrm dy=2\left(y+\frac{y^2}2\right)\bigg|_{-1}^1=2\left(1+\frac12\right)-2\left(-1+\frac12\right)=\boxed{4}

Alternatively, the triangle can be said to have a base of length 4 (the distance from (-2, 1) to (2, 1)) and a height of length 2 (the distance from the line <em>y</em> = 1 and (0, -1)), so its area is 1/2*4*2 = 4.

What is the surface area of the figure shown?
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

The surface area of the figure = 962 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

The rectangle dimensions and its area given below

Dimensions       Number         Area

12 x 7                2                   12 x 7 x 2 = 168

16 x 7                1                    16 x 7 = 112

12 x (16 + 5)     1                    12 x 21 = 252

16 x 12              1                    16 x 12 = 192

16 x 13              1                     16 x 13 = 208

Triangle dimensions

Dimensions           Number         Area

b = 12  & h = 5       2                bh/2 = (12*5)/2  = 30

To find total area

Total area = 168 + 112 + 252 + 192 + 208 + 30 = 962 ft²
