I'm not sure what you're supposed to do as far as the story... I hope this is enough setting.

It was the first day of kindergarten. Posters of cute animals and giant, colorful letters of the alphabet decorated the walls. As the parents brought in their children, the laughter of the children almost drowned out quiet sniffles of the parents. A small boy let go of his mom’s hand, and his brand new shoes squeaked across the floor as he found the desk with his name carefully printed on a tag. The kindly teacher smiled and waited for last hugs and goodbyes before she began her first lesson.

Answer:

The little girl in the story was the wisest character because of the kindness she showed to the Chenoo.

Explanation:

When the three brothers noticed the footprints in the North, South, and West, they disregarded it as the footprint of a bear. The girl in the story, however, believed that it was the Chenoo and she made provisions for it. She made a fire for it and prepared a meal for the Chenoo.

The monster was surprised at the welcome given by the little girl. This calmed him down and prevented him from attacking the girl and her brothers.
