The goddess Aphrodite, a symbol of all forms of sexuality, was also honored as the protector of weary travelers. She also lured people with her power of love, desire and seductive qualities. She placed the power of desire in the eyes of women, so that they (women) will have the ability to attract men in their own way. This power of desire was also what led to some of the famous wars in history, one among them being the Battle of Troy.
