Based on the excerpt from "The Wild Swans at Coole" we can infer that William Butler Yeats views time as a kind friend (C). He states that "All's changed" and that his "heart is sore", showing that he recognizes that time has passed and things in his life has changed. But, he is at the same shore and the swans stay the same. They are his comfort.
