ng the peak season as opposed to going on the regular economy class (to the nearest tenth)?
Travel Type Sample Round-Trip Fares from New York to London
First-Class Air Fare- $754.30
First-Class Ship Fare $775.20
Regular Economy Air Fare $440.80
Tourist Class Ship Fare $408.00
Peak Season Economy Air Fare $526.30
Peak Season Tourist Class Ship Fare $470.25
14- to 21-Day Excursion Air Fare $331.00
30-Day Excursion Ship Fare $345.95
Charter Group (25 Persons or More) Air Fare. $331.00

To find the percent increase, you will first find the difference in price for the peak season economy and the regular economy price.

$526.3-$440.8=$85.50

Then divide the difference by the beginning price(economy).

85.50/440.8= 0.19

The percent increase is approximately 19%.

Answer:

526.30-440.80=85.5

85.5/526.30= 0.1624= 16.2% is the right answer

Suppose that the mean score on a creativity test is 16 and the standard deviation is 4. You are told that the distribution is no
Savatey [412]

Answer:

P(12

And we can find this probability on this way:

P(-1

We expect around 68.27% between the two scores provided.

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the scores of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(16,4)

Where \mu=16 and \sigma=4

We are interested on this probability

P(12

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(12

And we can find this probability on this way:

P(-1

We expect around 68.27% between the two scores provided.

Set of data has a normal distribution with a mean of 56 and a standard deviation of 7. Find the percent of data within the follo
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

.99815

which is about

99.815%

Step-by-step explanation:

we are looking for 35<x<77

We need to find (what I think is called) the z score which is acheieved through what I'm pretty sure is called standardizing

What we do is subtract the mean and then divide by the standard deviation

so for 35 we have

(35-56)/7= -3.29

due to the fact that the normal distribution is symmetric this is equal to 1-p(3.29)

to find p(3.29) grab a ztable and get p(3.29)= .9995

1-.9995= .0005

For 77 we have

(77-56)/7=3

grab a ztable and find the 3= .99865

Finally subtract these two to get the final answer

.99865-.0005= .99815
