Answer:

27 miles in the morning and 85 miles in the afternoon.

Explanation:

Let m be the number of miles they rode in the morning.  They rode 4 more than 3 times this many in the afternoon; this gives us the expression

3m+4

to represent the miles ridden in the afternoon.

Together they rode 112 miles; this means we add the morning miles, m, to the afternoon miles, 3m+4, and get 112:

m+3m+4 = 112

Combine like terms:

4m+4 = 112

Subtract 4 from each side:

4m+4-4= 112-4

4m = 108

Divide both sides by 4:

4m/4 = 108/4

m = 27

They rode 27 miles in the morning.

That means in the afternoon, they rode

3m+4 = 3(27)+4 = 81+4 = 85 miles.

Chocolate chips are sold in bags of 500 grams you need 56 kilograms how many bags should u buy
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Hi!

500 grams = 0,5 kilograms => 1 kg = 1000 grams = 2 * 500 grams

For 1 kg we need to buy 2 bags of 500 grams.

For 56kg we need to buy x bags of 500 grams.

x = (56*2)/1 = 112

The answer is : You should buy 112 bags of 500 grams, because 112 * 500g = 65000g = 65 kg.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

Hi there

The formula is

A=p (1+r)^t

A future value

P present value

R interest rate

T time

A) A=2,000×(1+0.04)^(3)=2,249.728

B) A=2,000×(1+0.04)^(18)=4,051.63

C) 2500=2000 (1+0.04)^t

Solve for t

T=log(2,500÷2,000)÷log(1+0.04)

T=5.7 years

D) t=log(3,000÷2,000)÷log(1+0.04)

t=10.3 years

Hope it helps

Prove algebraically that (m + 2)2 – m 2 – 12 is always a multiple of 4
Julli [10]

Answer:

(m + 2)^{2} - m^{2}  - 12 = 4(m - 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

Write the expression

(m+2)^{2} - m^{2}  - 12

Step 2: Expand (m + 2)^{2}

(m+2)^{2} - m^{2} - 12\\(m+2)(m+2) - m^{2}  - 12\\m^{2} + 2m + 2m + 4 - m^{2}  - 12

Step 3: Collect similar terms

m^{2}  - m^{2}  + 4m + 4 - 12\\4m - 8

Step 4: Factor 4 out of the expression to prove that the expression is a multiple of 4.

Therefore\\4m - 8 = 4(m - 2)\\Hence,\\(m+2)^{2}  - m^{2} -  12 is a multiply of 4 because the expression is equal to 4(m-2)
