PLEASE NEED HELP WILL NAME BRAINLY, DON'T QUIT POEM When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging s

eems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns As every one of us sometimes learns And many a failure comes about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow— You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out— The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell just how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit— It's when things seem worst that you must not quit. PLEASE CONNOTATION, WHAT DEEPER MEANINGS CAN YOU CREATE OUT OF THIS THE POEM? WILL NAME BRAINLY AND WHO WANTS TO CHAT ps I'm a guy

Answer:

This poem, as stated in the title, is about not quitting.

It uses an informal dictation, as if speaking to a friend- as if giving you advice. It takes on the air that the author has been there, done that.

He speaks of feeling as if everything is awful- "When the road you're <em>trudging </em>seems all <em>uphill</em>," he states in the poem.

The word trudging suggests that the walk is not an easy one and when combined with the word uphill, suggests that the path they are taking is hard.

The poem also hints at depression- "And you want to smile, but you have to sigh".

This is suggesting that the narrator is thinking of giving up, because life is so gloomy.

He tells us "When he might have won had he stuck it out", most likely meaning that the narrator lost his fight, but is advising you not to do the same.

The connotation is a feeling of hope, while the deeper meaning is to never give up.

I hope this help! ^^

What does the collection of dishes at the Wells Theatre symbolize?
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

B. The beginning of a life together.

Explanation:

The short story "Dish Night" by Michael Martone tells the story of two unnamed protagonists, a couple whose opinions about life are represented by the collection of dishes. The dishes represent two aspects of the couple, for the young girl, it represents the family life she wished to get and for the young man, it represents the life he wished to live with her and his love for her.

The young girl sees the collection of the dishes as a representation of the large family she wanted, <em>"collecting enough pieces for [their] family of eight."</em> On the other hand, the young man sees the dishes as <em>"the movie of [his] life, this walking home under the moon from a movie with a girl holding a dinner plate under her arm like a book." </em>But one similarity is that both view the collection of dishes as something that will bring them together, one with the desire for a large family and the other desiring a life with her, representative of his love for her.

Thus, the correct answer is option B.
