Remember, the numerator of an exponenent represents the root. As well, a negative exponent means to take the reciprocal of the positive exponent (a^{-b} = \frac{1}{a^{b}}.

So, 64^{-1/3} is equal to \sqrt[3]{64^{-1}} which is 1/4, because 1/4*1/4*1/4 is 1/64 (1/64 cubed root is 1/4).

For example, a^{b/c} = \sqrt[c]{b^{b}}

The answer is c.

If a car travels 386.7 miles on 48 liters of gas, how many liters of gas will it take to go 660 miles if the car travels at the
love history [14]

Answer:

81.8L

Step-by-step explanation:

48L/ 386.7 miles = 0.124 L/mile (3.sf)

So if 1 miles takes 0.124L of gas,

660 miles = 0.124L x 660 = 81.8 L (3.sf)

It will take 81.8L of gas to go 660 miles.

If you round it off it will be 82L, depends on what your answer requires.

Kiran has 2 3/4 pounds of flour. When he divides the flower into equal sized bags, he fills 4 1/8 bags. How many pounds fit in e
pishuonlain [190]
ANSWER

\frac{2}{3}  \: pounds

EXPLANATION

Let x represent how many pounds fit in each bag, then,

\frac{ 2\frac{3}{4} }{x}  = 4 \frac{1}{8}
\frac{ \frac{11}{4} }{x}  =  \frac{33}{8}

33x = 8 \times  \frac{11}{4}

33x = 22

x =  \frac{22}{33}

x =  \frac{2}{3}

Hence

\frac{2}{3}

pounds went into each bag.
