Answer:

Because there was a lot of opposition to women's participation in political affairs.

Explanation:

Although in 1920 women gained the right to vote through the 19th Amendment, there was much opposition to women's participation in political affairs. Even though they won the right to vote, some women refused to vote in 1920, because some believed it was wrong and others feared retaliation from more traditional societies, including women who were forbidden by their husbands to vote.

Even if women's voting was approved by law, many people kept the idea that women could only get involved in domestic affairs and for that reason women were discouraged from participating in political affairs. The result was that women had little influence on national politics in the 1920s.

Many of them were too busy tending to work at home cooking cleaning etc. Even if they were not they were not allowed to vote legally. This changed eventually though. Women started movements and eventually gained the right to vote.

Write a paragraph explaining why you think George Washington’s presidency was so important in the development of the young natio
PilotLPTM [1.2K]
George Washingtons presidency was vital in the development of young America. Washington was a trusted figure, a war hero, he lead America to its independence during the Revolutionary war. The citizens of the united state followed him with their trust.
Washington set many of the precedents for the president that are still followed to this day,  for example the two term limit was established after he retired, only to be broken by FDR and it was later instated as a law. Without George Washington America would have been extremely different.
