Answer: set the U.S.- Canada border

It was clearly stated in the Treaty of 1818 which also widen or expanded the United States that the U.S. - Canada border must be set at the 49th parallel. Treaty 1818 is also popularly known as "the convention respecting fisheries, boundary and the restoration of slaves". This marks a reset in the old borders and practices of the U.S.

17. How did cultural diffusion most likely affect the development of early civilizations? (1 point)
Elena L [17]

Cultural diffusion most likely affected the development of early civilizations by interacting groups shared skills and ideas that improved farming practices. It was aimed to retain food supply on hand for use later.

EXPLANATION:

There are social, political, and environmental traits of early civilizations. You can see the explanation below:

a. A new social order

Around 12,000 years ago, human societies began to function very distinctively from before. Instead of only depending on hunting or gathering food, many communities created systems to produce food. Around 10,000 BCE, humans started to build agricultural villages. Another important effect of such new social order was the evolution of the concept of ownership; differing to band-hunter-gatherer migration, farmers invested a lot of their time and energy in cultivating certain lands, and therefore they were devoted to them.

b. Larger social group formation

In some parts of the world, comprising the valleys of the Tigris-Euphrates, Indus, Nile, and Huang rivers, denser and larger communities started to emerge. These huge communities of people are signified as complex communities or civilizations, which has many features, comprising having a dense population, social hierarchy, agriculture-based economy, division of labor and specialization, monuments, centralized government, record-keeping and writing records, and belief systems complex.

c. Formation of governments and social classes

Civilizations suggest pictures of stone walls, roads, and monuments, but they are more than strong physical infrastructure. To accelerate the administration and organization of these dense communities, large, people started to create social infrastructure: political, economic, and religious organizations that generated new social hierarchies. These hierarchies were inhabited by people who play special roles, for instance, professional administrators, craftsmen, farmers, merchants, traders, and spiritual leaders. Besides, because of increased trade and disagreements with external civilizations, cities needed diplomats, centralized rulers, and armies.

Imagine that the political leaders of Japan, a traditional culture, want to encourage more girls in their culture to become busi
lidiya [134]
Japanese politicians should encourage more opportunities for women in the workforce and demonstrate leadership by prioritizing women candidates for seats in Japan's parliament.

Japan actually has been trying to aim in the direction of greater opportunity and equality for women.  After becoming prime minister in 2012, Shinzo Abe announced plans for economic reforms and stimuli.  One part of his program was dubbed "womenomics," which included the stated goal of having 30% of leadership positions in business and government filled by women by 2020.  That goal was overly optimistic, and in 2016 Abe's government revised the goal to 7% of senior government jobs and 15% of business leadership positions being filled by women by 2020.

Though progress has been slow -- and in fact the numbers have gone backward at times -- persistence is the only way to change long-standing traditions.  One way Japanese politicians could show greater leadership in this regard would be to prioritize women for seats in parliament.  3/5 of the representatives elected to that body are chosen directly by voters in their districts voting for individual candidates.  The other 2/5 of representatives are chosen according to regional bloc voting, in which voters only are voting for the political party they favor, and the parties designate their top candidates for filling those legislative seats.  The political parties could show leadership by prioritizing women as candidates for those bloc voting seats, giving more women a role of leadership within their own political parties.
