Which body of water would not need desalination a dead sea b great salt sea c artic ice caps d pacific ocean
qwelly [4]

The correct answer is - c. Arctic ice caps.

The Arctic ice caps are the ones that would not desalination because the ice does not contain salt in it. This makes it usable for the humans as a freshwater source. Even though this ice is originated from the saline ocean waters, when the water starts to freeze, the salt is squeezed out, thus making it a regular ice, and not salty ice.

provide evidence of how the contributions of scientists, as related to plate tectonics has had an impact on society
Semenov [28]

Answer:

  • Earthquakes
  • Tsunamis
  • Volcanoes

Explanation:

An understanding of plate tectonics has saved many lives. The benefits of understanding how the Earth moves underneath our feet are enormous. Before the theory of plate tectonics, no one knew why Earthquakes occurred, why volcanoes erupted how and where they did, or why giant waves destroyed entire coastal areas or islands out of nowhere.

With the theory of plate tectonics we not only understand the orientation of the continents millions of years ago, but we also can plan cities intelligently to avoid seismically active areas. We can also predict when a tsunami will occur and gauge the potential devastation of a volcanic eruption before it happens.
