The options c) and d) are not true (although d can be partially argued for: they have problems with soil erosion and winds).

a and b however are both true- and they are connected to each other, a being the result of b.

Becasue of this, I think that B is the best option, as they have some but not many natural resources- due to their size.

A valley is carved by a glacier then - There did not appear to be any hospitable camping areas in the valley because the mountains dropped precipitously to the valley floor.

The correct option is A.

A stream valley that has been glaciated, also known as a glacial trough, often has a characteristic catenary, or U-shaped, cross section. U-shaped valleys are typical of mountain glaciers and may be seen all over the world.

In contrast to the V-shaped valleys formed by rivers, valley glaciers carve U-shaped valleys. When the temperature on Earth cools, glaciers develop and start to move downhill. They frequently choose the shortest route and settle in the small, V-shaped valleys that originally belonged to rivers.

A collection of different valleys with high walls and flat bottoms are carved by glaciers. It is a difficult terrain to explore and extremely dangerous for camping.

The complete question is:

Which of the following statements would be true for a valley carved by a glacier?

A. There did not appear to be any hospitable camping areas in the valley because the mountains dropped precipitously to the valley floor.

B. We hardly had a break on the hike across the valley: as soon as we reached the bottom, it was time to begin the climb up to the other side.

C. Frank hiked three miles straight across the valley before beginning a gentle climb up the mountain on the other side.

D. The Snake River winds through Hells Canyon, North America's deepest.

What landforms are created by divergent boundaries
kvasek [131]

Answer:

New crust, sometimes islands/mountains

Explanation:

Divergent boundaries are when two tectonic places are moving away from each other. In the current configuration of Earth, that happens in the ocean.

When plates move away from each other, they leave a gap.  That gap is filled with lava that solidifies quickly and forms now crust.  If the ocean floor is relatively shallow, and the lava pressure is big enough, that can lead to the formation of new islands, mountains/volcanoes on top of the gap.  That's basically how the Galapagos islands were created.

Select all the correct answers.
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

The tides would occur at a much lower intensity.

Explanation:

Tides are caused by two main factors, the moon, and the wind. The moon plays a bigger part. SO, if the moon were to suddenly begone, scientists estimate that there would still be tides, but just much smaller, maybe about 1/3 of their original size.
