Read the following excerpt from an argumentative essay. Answer the question that follows. Critics might say that smart phones in

the classroom cause too many distractions. A 2009 article in Education Magazine made just such a claim. Although cell phones can certainly cause distractions, current research suggests that teachers and students are putting phones to better use. A 2013 Educator Insider poll reveals that 67% of high school instructors now encourage students to use phones in the classroom setting. Students without phones are actually at a disadvantage in the classroom. The poll lists Internet access, spell checks, and collaboration as three key uses of smart phones in an educational setting. Sonja [21]

Answer:

D . She wants to move home, but also wants to consider her family’s feelings.

Explanation:

Heidi Stemple's "Moving Home" reflects on her decision to move her family, totally uprooting them to another part of the country. But despite it all, she recalls how things all worked out in the end.

In the short passage, Stemple revealed how her father's cancer diagnosis led her to move her family to her parents' side. And despite the initial debate of weighing the pros and cons of the move, the end result was more favorable for everyone. But what was the most important factor was that all members of the family had their say, thus allowing them to put their thoughts considered.

Thus, the correct answer is option D.

Read the passage about dogs in the classroom. Which two sentences give the best description of the passage?
Blababa [14]

Answer: I read the book about dogs

the two sentences that best describe this passage are "being around pets benefits kids who need to learn responsibility." and "a study by the University of California found that reading to dogs improved third graders' reading skills."

together these two sentences sum up all of the ideas in the article and explain all of the benefits described. the second sentence sums up the majority of the article and choosing the one about improving a children's ability to learn would be repetitive. and the other about it being good for the teachers isn't mentioned in the article at all.

the study is the most important part of the passage and covers pretty much the entire beginning of it. the responsibility was kind of added in as a "hey this is a thing too" but it really showcases how beneficial the dogs are to kids and that's what the message of the article is

Explanation:

Hope this helps you!!!!! :D
