Although it has been proven that non-renewable resources such as petroleum are indeed running out and are no infinite, many people believe that there are enough non-renewable resources left on the planet to not worry too much about investing all our resources in renewable energy. This reality will only change with a better education system.

It is also true that efficient technology does no always exist and that when it does can be quite expensive. A good example is the difficulty of storing excess solar or wind energy to be used when atmospheric conditions cause a drop in production.
