They’re important by telling both differences, because one is visually seeing something/ or knowing, and the other one is guessing.

Option 2:

Inferences are progress of reaching a conclusion about something from a known fact. Observations are what someone perceives or notices.

If not then I would just keep a mutal friendship with them.
