Answer:

Algonkian and Winnebago

Explanation:

The French enjoyed much better relations with Native Americans than other European groups when they first came to American shores. ... The main reason is that they did not try to change the Natives. They also did not compete with the Natives for land.

Gnoma [55]

Answer:

When the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés and his men arrived in the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán in 1521, they described witnessing a grisly ceremony. Aztec priests, using razor-sharp obsidian blades, sliced open the chests of sacrificial victims and offered their still-beating hearts to the gods. They then tossed the victims’ lifeless bodies down the steps of the towering Templo Mayor.

Andrés de Tapia, a conquistador, described two rounded towers flanking the Templo Mayor made entirely of human skulls, and between them, a towering wooden rack displaying thousands more skulls with bored holes on either side to allow the skulls to slide onto the wooden poles.

What did the Gestapo and SS do? How did Hitler and the Nazis use these groups to gain and keep power?
marta [7]

Answer:

Gestapo, abbreviation of Geheime Staatspolizei (German: “Secret State Police”), the political police of Nazi Germany. The Gestapo ruthlessly eliminated opposition to the Nazis within Germany and its occupied territories and, in partnership with the Sicherheitsdienst (SD; “Security Service”), was responsible for the roundup of Jews throughout Europe for deportation to extermination camps.

The Gestapo operated without civil restraints. It had the authority of “preventive arrest,” and its actions were not subject to judicial appeal. Thousands of leftists, intellectuals, Jews, trade unionists, political clergy, and homosexuals simply disappeared into concentration camps after being arrested by the Gestapo. The political section could order prisoners to be murdered, tortured, or released. Together with the SS, the Gestapo managed the treatment of “inferior races,” such as Jews and Roma (Gypsies). During World War II the Gestapo suppressed partisan activities in the occupied territories and carried out reprisals against civilians. Gestapo members were included in the Einsatzgruppen (“deployment groups”), which were mobile death squads that followed the German regular army into Poland and Russia to kill Jews and other “undesirables.” Bureau IV B4 of the Gestapo, under Adolf Eichmann, organized the deportation of millions of Jews from other occupied countries to the extermination camps in Poland.

Which statement best summarizes both the rise of capitalism and growing criticism of the system during the 19th century?
Vesna [10]

The correct answer is C) Capitalism developed as an alternative to inefficient mercantilist policies, but it drew criticism for increasing the gap between the rich and poor.

Mercantilism and capitalism are two very different economic systems. Mercantilism is a system which relies on one country developing a favorable balance of trade and obtaining valuable resources from a colony. This was the system used when America was still controlled by Great Britain.

As America gained independence, they focused on developing a more capitalist society. This society is based on individual freedom, as citizens can decide what they buy. Along with this, American businesses and citizens are not forced to trade with one specific country.
