Who are the spanish armada?

The Spanish Armada was a fleet of ships of varying size, from frigates to sloops and everything in between. The Spanish monarchs (whomever they may have been at the time) used these ships as their country's naval force and performed sea missions and ship seizures with them. These ships were also often bought out or commandeered by pirates who used them to their own gains, however unscrupulous they may have been.
