"the truman doctrine and the marshall plan were both a part of what u.s. foreign policy strategy
topjm [15]
The Truman Doctrine and The Marshall Plan were both party of the US foreign policy strategy of containment, or as I like to call it The Anti-Communism Strategy. The idea of containment was to contain and prevent the spread of communism world-wide during the Cold War. In fact, the Truman Doctrine, which states that the US will provide political, military and economic assistance to any democratic nation threatened by communism, is believed to be part of the reason the US got involved in Vietnam, despite the problem not particularly being communism.

Hope I could help!

What is the doctrine of “separate but equal”? • What is the difference between social equality and political/civil equality?
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

In the case Plessy v. Ferguson, the Supreme Court determined that segregation was allowed as long as the facilities were "separate but equal." This was overruled with Brown v. Board of Education

With Brown, African-Americans were given civil equality but were still treated as second class citizens and were thus not socially equal. So, social equality is how people actually treat each other while political equality is how they are treated by the law.
