Ocean. As the major agricultural region of Georgia this area produces crops such as onions, tobacco, peanuts, pecans, cotton, and rice. Pulp and paper production is also another important industry in this region. Tourism contributes to the economic development of this region from the many people that visit the Okefenokee Swamp and the 100 miles of land and beaches bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
