I saw the planet earth as well, and I was thoroughly impressed.

It was getting late, as the moon was shining in the night sky, and they made the decision to drop me off. When we had landed, and all of them were saying their farewells in their alien language, I had a strong feeling flowing throughout my body. I felt like I was leaving the one family I had, and it was ripping me apart.

The next morning, I had expected my parents to greet me with “Where were you last night?!”. But surprisingly enough, they never said a thing about how I was abducted by those aliens. I will never forget the family I had when I was with those green people that one night.

Answer:

Rural orphanage

Explanation:

While convalescent homes are sometimes associated with retirement homes for the elderly, in this passage the place is described as a place in the country to send children that are too costly to support at home.

Several of the clues that the passage gives us are the mention of the new baby, the care and managing factor that is characteristic of parental responsibility, and the closing statement that it is still a place where children are sent.
