What J. Crew, Bellstaff, & Timex are doing is a type of marketing promotion called cross-promotion.

Cross-promotion is done <u>by promoting a product using another product or service’s promotion.</u> This type of promotion is perfect when the customer base between the two products are alike, thus reducing the cost needed to promote two products by just using one promotion instead.

nekit [7.7K]
A pure-monoply means that a company does not have to compete with other producers within the market. Since they aren't competing with a good or service, they aren't competing with each others customers either. When a company does not have to compete on price/customers they may end up being greedy and have market failure.

Stock in Tasty Greens Restaurants is selling at $80 per share with 1 million shares outstanding. Last year, Tasty Greens earned
forsale [732]

Answer:

B. 2 percent

Explanation:

<em>1. ANNUAL DIVIDEND:</em>

The net dividend paid to shareholders can be calculated as follows;

Retained Earnings = Net Income - Net Dividend Paid to the Shareholders

We are given the following information;

Retained Earnings = $2.4 million = $2,400,000

Net Income = $4 million = $4,000,000

Hence, by putting the above values in the equation as;

$2,400,000 = $4,000,000 - Net Dividend Paid to the Shareholders

or

Net Dividend Paid to the Shareholders = $4,000,000 - $2,400,000

Net Dividend Paid to the Shareholders = $1,600,000

or

Annual Dividend = $ 1,600,000

<em>2. CURRENT STOCK PRICE:</em>

Current stock price can be calculated as follows;

Current Stock Price = Outstanding Shares x Current price for a single share

We are given the following information;

Outstanding Shares = 1 million = 1,000,000

Current price for a single share = $80

Hence, by putting the above values in the equation as;

Current Stock Price = 1,000,000 x $80

Current Stock Price = $80,000,000

<em>3. DIVIDEND YIELD:</em>

Dividend Yield can be calculated as follows;

Dividend Yield = \frac{Annual Dividend}{Current Stock Price}

Annual Dividend = $1,600,000

Current Stock Price = $80,000,000

Dividend Yield = \frac{1,600,000}{80,000,000}

Dividend Yield = 0.02

Dividend Yield = 2%

Hence option B is the correct answer.

When the price of a bar of chocolate is $1.00, the quantity demanded is 100,000 bars. When the price rises to $1.50, the quantit
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

a. -1.25

b. -1.25

Explanation:

Price elasticity is used to measure the change in demand as a result of a change in price.

Formula is;

= % change in Quantity/ % change in Price

a. Suppose the price increases from $1.00 to $1.50. The price elasticity of demand is:

% change in Quantity using the midpoint formula;

=\frac{Q2 - Q1}{\frac{Q1 + Q2}{2} } \\\\= \frac{60,000 - 100,000}{\frac{100,000 + 60,000}{2}} \\\\= -0.5

% Change in Price using midpoint formula

=\frac{P2 - P1}{\frac{P1 + P2}{2} } \\\\= \frac{1.5 - 1.00}{\frac{1.00 + 1.50}{2} } \\\\= 0.4

= -0.5/0.4

= -1.25

b. Suppose the price decreases from $1.50 to $1.00. The price elasticity of demand is:

% change in Quantity using the midpoint formula;

=\frac{Q2 - Q1}{\frac{Q1 + Q2}{2} } \\\\= \frac{100,000 - 60,000}{\frac{100,000 + 60,000}{2}} \\\\= 0.5

% Change in Price using midpoint formula

=\frac{P2 - P1}{\frac{P1 + P2}{2} } \\\\= \frac{1.00 - 1.50}{\frac{1.00 + 1.50}{2} } \\\\= -0.4

= 0.5/-0.4

= -1.25
