Georgia is among the largest state of America in the regions near the Mississippi river established in 1732. It was among the youngest state of the 13 former colonies of England. 1950s become the regions to have the largest number of plantation state in the south. Plantation requires many laborers and to fulfill it slaves were being brought to the estates.

It was believed that Georgia was a colony established by the prisoners with no salves but later it became the land for the royal colony for the English citizens who were imprisoned for the debt. Though the prisoners were sent as imprisoners but it later became heaven for them  

In 1864, General William Tecumseh Sherman attacked Georgia and seized Atlanta and then began to his annexation towards the sea to Savannah.

Georgia was established as refuge for debtors as well as a buffer between the plantation colonies and Spanish Florida. It was also established as a non-slave colony.


Overflowing prisons in England caused a concern. James Oglethorpe provided a solution by requesting a colony for debtors to work off their debt through servitude toward the colony. No slaves were allowed in the colony as the debtors were the labor.
