Answer: a.  worldly striving wastes people’s talents and energy.

Explanation:

"The World Is Too Much With Us" is William Wordsworth's poem, published in 1807. The poem deals with our lost relationship with nature. The speaker's tone is judgmental, yet sad because nature is taken for granted.

<em>“Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers: / Little we see in Nature that is ours"</em>

In this particular line, the speaker expresses his opinion that people waste their talents while 'getting and spending'. We live in the world of wrong values, and spend our time on things that are not really important.

In "Fahrenheit 451" why does Montag want to read books?
Flauer [41]
<span>Montag realizes that in his day, people are generally not happy. He knows that, in the past, people were happy. He tries to figure out what is different now and the main thing he can think of is that there used to be books and now there aren't any books. Also because in one of the chapters he watches the old lady burn with her books so if people are willing to die with their books than there has to be some sort of value and meaning to them.</span>

The poem depicts the pain of the blind love.

<u>Explanation:</u>

This is a very heart touching poem which describes the pain of not being able to be with a person whom you love the most. In the first stanza, the narrator states that he was the one who was wounded but the lover acted as if it was her.

The second stanza depicts how despite giving the chance, the person whom the narrator loved didn’t showed a slightest emotion. And that was when the speaker realized that it wasn’t meant to be.

The third stanza illustrates how after a painful realization the narrator bid a goodbye to his lover, but despite that he kept thinking of both of them being together. But unfortunately nothing turned out the way the speaker thought would be.

The last stanza shows the pain and suffering of the narrator. It shows that all this while the narrator was blinded by love and was unable to realize that the lies behind those kind words.
