Young Italy was a political movement that emerged in 1831 in Italy under the leadership of  Giuseppe Mazzini.

Firstly, Mazzini addressed the king through a letter where he requested the monarch to unite the Italian reigns under his leadership. As the claims were not listened to, the movement evolved and r<u>equested the creation of an united Italian Republic.</u> In order to achieve this main goal, the movement promoted insurrection acts in the Italian reactionary states and in the Italian legitime lands that were occupied by the Austrian Empire at the moment.
