The South East region of Britain is the most populous area of the country with over 9 million people. One main reason people are attracted to this region is that after London, the region the UK's largest economy with investments in various industries such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, engineering and other forms of technology and even aerospace.

There are therefore more employment and business opportunities here which attract more people.

Also the South/SE of the UK have various ports which represent conduits to Europe and the rest of the World. The South has therefore benefited from trade with Europe and the rest of the World which led to people moving there to take advantage of such opportunities.
