Solve for j (show steps)

Mathematics
1 answer:
MissTica3 years ago
3 0

1. k (j - 3) = m

Divide the k on both sides -> j - 3 = m/k

Add the 3 on both sides -> j = (m/k) +3

2.  3 (8 - x) + 12 = 102 - 6x

Subtract the 12 on both sides -> 3 (8 - x) = 90 - 6x

Add the 6x on both sides -> 3 (8 - x) + 6x = 90

Divide both sides by 3 -> 8 - x + 6x = 30

Combine like terms -> 8 +5x = 30

Subtract 8 from both sides -> 5x = 22

Divide both sides by 5 -> x = 22/5

3. Sorry, I can't remember exactly how to do the last one.

What is the surface area of the cylinder with height 8 in and radius 7 in?
vesna_86 [32]

Given info:

Height - 8 in

Radius - 7 in

Formula:  A = 2\pi rh+2\pi r^{2}

A = 2\pi (7)(8) + 2\pi 7^{2}

A = 2\pi 56 + 2\pi 49

A = 351.85 + 307.87

A = 659.72 :)

The function p(x) = 2(x-9)2 + 100 is used to determines the profit on T-shirts sold for x dollars. What would the profit from sa
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

the profit will be $172

Step-by-step explanation:

The function given is:

p(x) = 2(x-9)^2 + 100

Where x is the price of the each shirt.

if each shirt is sold for $15,  hen x = 15.

the profit will be:

p(15) = 2(15-9)^2 + 100

p(15) = 2(6)^2 + 100

p(15) = 2(36) + 100

p(15) = 72 + 100

p(15) = 172

So, the profit will be $172

Consider a circle with a diameter of 5 centimeters. Which equation shows how the relationship between the circumference and the
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

The equation which shows how the relationship between the circumference and the diameter of this circle is equivalent to π is π =  \frac{C}{5} ⇒ answer C

Step-by-step explanation:

In any circle there is a constant ratio between the circumference of the circle and its diameter

This constant ratio is called π

∵ The formula of the circumference of a circle is C = π d,

    where d is the diameter of the circle

- Divide both sides by d

∴ \frac{C}{d} = π

- Switch the two sides

∴ π =  \frac{C}{d}

∵ The diameter of the circle is 5 centimeters

∴ π =  \frac{C}{5}

The equation which shows how the relationship between the circumference and the diameter of this circle is equivalent to π is π =  \frac{C}{5}
