Which house on Fitzroy Street will Moriarty rob next?

History

Answer:Walking past this home, in a street full of heritage terrace houses in Fitzroy North, Melbourne, you may not immediately realize the building is new. From the street, the crisp facade of what at first appears to be a historic worker’s cottage hints at the highly resolved architecture beyond the front door. This “door” however, is in fact a battened gate that deftly mediates between the public and private realms.

Behind the unusual entry, the main two- storey volume of the house sits between a verdant front courtyard and a rear outdoor living space. Crafted from concrete, glass and steel, this modernist structure is bathed in sunlight from two courtyards with orientation to the east and west, and a quasi terrarium to the north. This clever siting, responding to the perils of the typical long, linear site with built-up boundaries, is sensitive to the street and the rear laneway.

With refined and contemporary detailing throughout, this is a skilful response to context that provides freedom within a relatively constrained site. It enables daily life and play in a village of sorts, highly connected to the outdoors.

Which was not a justification for the increase in U.S. involvement in Vietnam?
AleksAgata [21]

The item in the list which was NOT a justification for increased US involvement in Vietnam:

To keep North Vietnam aligned with the United States.

Explanation:

North Vietnam never was aligned with the United States. The US was aligned with and fought on behalf of South Vietnam. North Vietnam was controlled by a communist government and was seeking to unify Vietnam under communist control.

US foreign policy in those years was one focused on fighting communism. Domino theory was a major idea in US thinking at the time. Domino theory proposed that the spread of communism in Vietnam would result in other countries in the region falling like dominoes to the influence of communism.

The event that sparked a major increase of US involvement in Vietnam was the allegation of attacks on US naval ships in neutral waters in the Gulf of Tonkin. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was a measure passed by US Congress that allowed the US President to make military actions, like increase troops, without formal declaration of war. The resolution was passed by Congress in August, 1964, after alleged attacks on two US naval ships in the Gulf of Tonkin. The key wording in the resolution said:

 • Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that the Congress approves and supports the determination of the President, as Commander in Chief, to take all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression.

That resolution served as a blank check for President Lyndon Johnson to send troops to whatever extent he deemed necessary in pursuance of the war. Between 1964 and the end of Johnson's presidency in 1969, US troop levels in Vietnam increased from around 20,000 to over 500,000.

Which historical event was greatly responsible for global stratification as we see it today?a. World War I b. The Fall of the Br
vichka [17]

The correct answer is letter D

The Industrial Revolution started in a pioneering way in England, from the second half of the 18th century, and this pioneerism is attributed to England for the fact that it was there that the first steam engine appeared, in 1698, built by Thomas Newcomen and perfected by James Watt in 1765. Historian Eric Hobsbawm even believes that the Industrial Revolution was only really started in the 1780s | 1 |

The technological advance characteristic of the Industrial Revolution allowed a great development of machinery aimed at textile production, that is, clothing. With this, a series of machines, such as "Jenny spinning", "spinning frame", "water frame" and "spinning mule", were created to weave threads. With these machines, it was possible to weave a number of threads that would have to be used by several people manually.
