The reason here is the following. First of all, bears not only eat bass. They are omnivorous, therefore they can eat almost everything. So, they wouldn't disappear or decrease in population. However, the minnows would lose one of its more major predators. Making an increase in population because not many predators would consume them. Also, maybe the plants they eat would scarce eventually and decrease their number until the minnows die of hunger or the plants decrease their numbers. But that is not an option.
