Anger and pride is what motivates Odysseus to reveal his name and put his men in more danger.
Odysseus wounded Cyclops, and he wanted him to know who the mortal man who shamed him so was. This is why he yelled his own name to him, so that everybody knows who put the giant to such shame.

More than likely C. I think this because Wild animals tend to live closer to the center of the island, because their instincts tell them that the island will flood someday. Hope this helped! Thanks!

Which of these excerpts from poems by Emily Dickinson uses irony?
riadik2000 [5.3K]
In my opinion, the whole poem is quite ironic - although she is mentioning the exultation and the royal color of death, the poem itself begins with the narrator saying that she cannot breathe - that she doesn't want to die.
So, I would say that the ironic parts are:
Exultation is the going
Of an inland soul to sea, -
Past the houses, past the headlands,
Into deep eternity!

Read this excerpt from chapter 2 of The Scarlet Letter using comprehension strategies. “Goodwives,” said a hard-featured dame of
ololo11 [35]
A. The speaker is saying that she and her peers should be allowed to handle the punishments for people like Hester Prynne. She thinks this because they would band together as a group and be all on the same page in their punishment, rather than leaving it up to the magistrate--whose punishment she does not think adequately fit the crime Hester committed.
