1. Choose one aspect of the Cold War you have studied—the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, the Restructuring of Japan, the Ko
Liula [17]
The Truman Doctrine definitely represents the policy of containment. Containment is the idea that America wants to stop the spread of communism to other nations. America is fearful that if they fail to stop communism from spreading to one country, that it will lead to several countries becoming communist (known as the domino effect).

In order to stop the spread of communism, the US government tries to give financial assistance to countries that are susceptible to falling under Soviet control. Two of these countries in particular are Turkey and Greece (due to their geographical location near the Soviet Union). This is why President Harry Truman proposes $400 million worth of aid to these countries, so that they may stabilize their economy and become allies with the United States. This shows containment, as without these funds the countries could have very well been taken over by the Soviet Union and the system of communism.

How did peasants contribute to the decline of Han China?
klemol [59]

The correct answer is crushed by taxes and debt, desperate peasants revolted

In the early years of the second century AD, the Han Dynasty declined. Peasant rebellions and rivalries in the Chinese court contributed to the fall. Even the public procurement system did not function properly and honestly: Chinese officials began to be chosen for public office because of their personal influence rather than their knowledge and intellect.

In the year 220 AD, the Han empire was fragmented into three kingdoms. Constant guerrillas have caused serious problems for China. This period of Chinese history is called the Age of Disunity, which lasted until 589 AD.

Wich statement summarizes the effects of the works progress administration
Nana76 [90]

The WPA created jobs for the unemployed.

The Works Progress Administration was established in 1935, under the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration.

The WPA did employ artists and musicians and actors and such, but the WPA was only for American citizens, as the country worked to fight its way out of the Great Depression.

People weren't paid to remain unemployed. Rather, the government created projects for which they hired persons to do work.

WPA projects included some building of roads, bridges and other public projects, but the national interstate highway system was something done later in US history, under the Eisenhower administration.
