It's just ratio ,

so 3x+7x+11x=189
so, 21x=189
x=9

therefore green pepper= 3x=3×9=27

so the answer is B and you can go for that !

Answer:

27 cups  green pepper uses for making salsa .

Option (B) is correct .

Step-by-step explanation:

As given

The salsa recipe uses green pepper, onion and tomato in the extended ration 3:7:11.

Let us assume that the x be the scalar multiple .

Green pepper used for making salsa = 3x

Onion used for making salsa = 7x

Tomato used for making salsa = 11x

As given

green pepper, onion and tomato are used for making 189 cups of salsa .

Eqution becomes

3x + 7x + 11x = 189

21x = 189

x = \frac{189}{21}

x = 9

Thus

Green pepper used for making salsa = 3x

                                                              = 3 × 9

                                                              = 27 cups

Therefore 27 cups  green pepper uses for making salsa .

Option (B) is correct .

Find the value of x. Give your answer in simplest radical form.
MrMuchimi
Answer: x = 5*sqrt(10)
"sqrt" stands for "square root"

-------------------------------------------------------

Refer to the attached image. The figure is not to scale. Notice how I've added in y and z (blue and red respectively)
The length y is the bottom horizontal leg for the triangle on the right.
The length z is the bottom horizontal leg for the triangle on the left.

To find x, we need to find y first, which will help us find z, and then we can finally get to x.

Let's find y first
To do this, we use the pythagorean theorem
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
y^2 + 9^2 = 15^2
y^2 + 81 = 225
y^2 + 81-81 = 225-81
y^2 = 144
sqrt(y^2) = sqrt(144)
y = 12 ... keep in mind that y is a length, so it needs to be positive

Notice how the y and z lengths combine to form a total length of 25 units
Therefore,
y+z = 25
12+z = 25
12+z-12 = 25-12
z = 13

Now that we know z = 13, we can find x. Again we use the pythagorean theorem one last time
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
z^2 + 9^2 = x^2
13^2 + 9^2 = x^2
169 + 81 = x^2
250 = x^2
x^2 = 250
sqrt(x^2) = sqrt(250)
x = sqrt(250)
x = sqrt(25*10)
x = sqrt(25)*sqrt(10)
x = 5*sqrt(10)
This is in simplest radical form as we can't factor 10 any further (there are no perfect square factors that go into 10). This is the exact length of side x

Note: using a calculator, 5*sqrt(10) = 15.8113883008419 approximately

Julie cycles 7 3/4 miles in 1/3 hour. If Julie continues to cycle at the same speed, how many miles will she ride per hour?
Anarel [89]

Answer:

23.25 MPH

Step-by-step explanation:

7 3/4 x 3 = 23.25

1/3 x 3 = 3/3 = 1

So for 1 hour she will ride 23.25 MPH :D

Trava [24]
Short answer
For 6: 72 ft^2
For 7: 650 m^2

Six
The base is a square. It's measurement is s = 4
Base = 4^2
Base = 16 ft^2

One triangle
A = 1/2 * b * h
A = 1/2 * 4 * 7
A = 14 tt^2

Four triangles
A = 4 * 14
A = 56 ft^2

Total Area = 56 + 16 = 72 ft^2
Answer 72 square feet

Seven
Triangles
Area of 1 triangle = 1/2 * 10 * 13
Area of 1 triangle = 65

Area of 6 triangles
Area of 6 triangles = 6 * area of 1 triangle
Area of 6 triangles = 390

Base
As near as I can tell, the base is a hexagon. It's using a rather out of the way method of drawing it. I will assume it is a regular hexagon. The area of a regular hexagon is 3 sqrt(3)/2 * S^2 where s is the side of the hexagon.

Area = 3sqrt(3)/2 s^2
s = 10
Area = 3sqrt(3)/2 10^2
Area = 5.1962 * 100 /2
Area = 259.81

Total area
Total area = area of the base + area of the triangles
Total area = 259.81 + 390
Total area (rounded ) = 650

Answer C <<<< answer

I'll do one more in this batch and then you'll need to repost again.

Eight

If you draw two diagonals on the base of the figure, the intersection point will meet the base of the height. Read that a couple of times.
Join the intersection to the midpoint of the length of the square bottom.  You should get 3.5

x is found by using the pythagorean theorem.
h = 6
s = 3.5
x = ????

x^2 = 6^2 + 3.5^2
x^2 = 36 + 12.25
x^2 = 48.25
x = sqrt(48.25)
x = 6.95
