He used art to communicate his ideas by expressing his feelings on his paintings, he created art to share his ideas of what he thinks that the world is or what it plans on becoming. He made the paintings have such an imprint on you that you couldn't look away.

La Guerra de Independencia de México comenzó en 1810 y terminó en 1821, aunque el gobierno español tardó hasta 1829 en someterse a la independencia mexicana.

México había sido gobernado por los españoles desde la conquista española en 1521. La junta estaba formada por los peninsulares, pero los criollos comenzaron a emanciparse en el siglo XVIII y también querían ejercer la autoridad de la colonia.

En 1808 España fue ocupada por Napoleón Bonaparte, quien instaló en el trono a su hermano José Bonaparte. El virrey de Nueva España, José de Iturrigaray, quiso aprovechar esto introduciendo una medida de autogobierno en su colonia. Sin embargo, estos planes fueron truncados por un golpe de Estado de los peninsulares. Esto marcó el final de la credibilidad de la administración colonial, iniciándose la guerra por la independencia.
