Your individual assignment is to write an essay that addresses the following question: Did the North or South kill the Reconstru
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The period of Reconstruction lasted from 1865 to 1877, and involved putting the country back together after the Civil War.  The Civil War was fought and won by the North and the United States was preserved; but a number of new problems were created.  Four million slaves were suddenly freed, but did not have jobs, an education, places to live, or a guarantee of basic civil rights.  Northerners and Southerners, who had just spent five years slaughtering each other by the thousands, bitterly resented one another and were now forced to share the country once again. Many Southern whites had their land or families destroyed during the Civil War, and had to rebuild their lives from scratch.  Those who survived still held many of the same racist attitudes and resentments towards blacks, and did not want to include them in society.

How could labor unions get better wages for southern workers?
AURORKA [14]
Labor Union were formed by workers in order to fight against unfair workplace conditions. One way that labor unions could provide better wages for Southern Workers is through labor strikes. The idea is that a group is better than one person. If one person goes to the boss and demands a raise it is highly likely that they will be fired. But if multiple people all go the boss and demand a raise they will mostly likely get it do the strength in numbers. If the workers go on strike then the boss will have to higher new workers to replace them or give in to the demands of the workers for higher wages.

For any Canadians that can help me out with this question I will appreciate it!!
Naily [24]

Answer: Canada’s fertility rates have not met the replacement rate of 2.1 needed for stable population growth since 1971. In addition, the life expectancy for Canadians has also increased by more than nine years. In short, Canadians are living longer and having fewer children and less frequently. Without a young population to replace retiring workers, there will be fewer working-age Canadians contributing to the workforce and economy. This imbalance puts pressure on the standards of living, slows economic growth, and creates numerous fiscal challenges. Immigration brings in young families and working-age newcomers. These newcomers fill workplace shortages and contribute positively to the economy. Unfortunately, immigration alone is not the solution to Canada’s ageing and retiring population.
