There is no "secret" to reaching someone with words. It takes immense skill to actually truly impact someone with mere language. One strategy, however, that may help authors to convince their audience is the use of rhetoric. All rhetorical language can be split into three categories: Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Logos is when an author appeals to his audience with logic, Pathos is when an author appeals to his audience with emotion, and Ethos is when an author appeals to his audience with trust.
