The purpose of the British  Declaratory Act of 1766 was stop appease colonists repealing the Stamp Act, save face and end the boycotts on trade. The act stated that the taxing authority of the British Parliament  was the same in America as it was in Great Britain . Hoped that helped !! :) Btw you should look into it just to get a better insight on the events and everything .
