Answer:

The black codes ended because President Abraham Lincoln was shot.  He died on April 15, 1865, and Vice President Andrew Johnson assumed the presidency. The task of reuniting the nation fell on his shoulders. A Southerner, Johnson favored readmitting the Southern states as quickly as possible into the Union. He appointed military governors who held complete power in the former Confederate states until new civilian governments could be organized.

What are the powers of congress (article 1 section 8)? which 3 do you think are the most important?
MariettaO [177]

1. Power to declare war

Congress, not the President, has the power to declare war. This ensures that the people's representatives are heard in considering when to send Americans off to war.

2. The regulate Commerce

This, known is as the Commerce Clause, is the foundation for much of the expansion of the Federal Government since the 1930s. It remains controversial in some circles but allows Congress to get involved in things you would normally think were reserved to the States.

3. Borrow on the credit of the US

The US has debt. The constitution allows for Congress to borrow to pay for things. We will see how this one turns out.

The United States' desire for economic and territorial growth at the end of the 19th century resulted from
Alik [6]

Answer: wanting to expand democracy to different parts of the world.

Explanation:

America has no intention in the context of spreading its theory at the expense of others. What the American government is trying to do is expand its influence in the world. The United States is trying to spread democracy to certain countries in Africa and the Middle East to create an environment where human rights are respected. Such a thing is only possible in democratic systems. In that way, they would come into trade contacts with those countries, which would achieve economic growth to mutual satisfaction. The American system of spreading democracy implies two approaches. The first is "top-down," which implies direct pressure on the autocratic government. This approach does not exclude military intervention, as is evident in the 2003 example of Iraq. Another system of spreading American democracy is called "bottom-up." This approach involves finding the NGOs of a particular country to promote democracy. It also involves certain funding parties through which they seek to proclaim democratic ideals.

krek1111 [17]

Answer:

The 3rd option.

Explanation:

The Warsaw Pact, so-named because it was established in Warsaw, was a military alliance between the Soviet Union and client states of Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. It allowed the Soviet Union to maintain forces in eastern Europe and organized forces of in the client states. The alliance was largely symbolic, as the Soviet Union dictated policy. It allowed the Soviet Union to maintain control of eastern Europe during the Cold War, but democratic revolutions in the client states in 1989 inspired similar revolutions in the Soviet Union. The Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union both collapse in 1991.
