Write the point slope from of the equation of a line given the flowing slopes and points. 1.m=5;pt(8-,-7
ozzi

Answer:

y= 5x - 47

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume you're asking how to make it into an equation form?

If yes then...

m=5 , pt (8, -7)

y= 5x +b

sub pt (8, -7) to find b

-7 = 5(8) + b

-7 = 40 + b

-7 - 40 = b

-47 = b

therefore, y= 5x - 47

HELP ME Write and solve a proportion to find y.
Phoenix [80]

Given:

A figure of dilation and the center of dilation is O.

To find:

The value of y.

Solution:

The distance between center and vertex of image (d') is proportional to the distance between center and the corresponding vertex of original figure (d).

d'\propto d

d'=kd

\dfrac{d'}{d}=k

Where, k is the scale factor or constant of proportionality.

So, the scale factor for the given dilation is

k=\dfrac{OB'}{OB}

k=\dfrac{36}{16}

k=\dfrac{9}{4}

We know that,

k=\dfrac{\text{Side length of image}}{\text{Corresponding side length of original figure}}

\dfrac{9}{4}=\dfrac{A'C'}{AC}

\dfrac{9}{4}=\dfrac{27}{y}

9\times y=27\times 4

Divide both sides by 9.

y=\dfrac{27\times 4}{9}

y=3\times 4

y=12

Therefore, the value of y is 12.

Find the value of x. help with geometry pls
Ivan

Answer:

Find the value of x:-

To find Y, use Pythagorean theorem:- c^{2} =a^{2} +b^{2}

(2.1)^{2} =y^{2} +(1.4)^{2}

2.1^{2}=4.41

1.4^{2} =1.96

4.41=y^{2} +1.96

subtract 1.96 from both sides

2.45=y^{2}

y=1.5652

Now, to find x:-

x=y+y

= 1.5632+1.5652

x=3.1 \: ft

Answer:

22. Perimeter = 52 units

     Area = 160 Square Units

23. Notation form :  2 \times 10^{5}

     Standard Form : 200000

Step-by-step explanation:

22.

The formula for perimeter is

P = 2 (length + Width )

  = 2 ( 2x+3x+1)

  =  2(5x+1)

The Formula for Area of a rectangle is

A= length x width

A= 2x \times (3x+1)

A=6x^2+2x

Now we have to find the Perimeter and Area for x = 5

P = 2(5 x 5 +1)

P= 2(26)

P=52 units

A= 6 x 5 x 5 + 2 x 5

A= 150 + 10

A= 160 square units

23.

A. By using rule of exponents , we can determine that both the results will be same.

B.

Miriam's calculation

\frac{2.8 \times 10^{9}}{1.4 \times 10^{4}}

\frac{2.8}{1.4} \times 10^{9-4}

2 \times 10^5

Priya's calculation

\frac{2.8 \times 10^{2}}{1.4 \times 10^{-3}}

\frac{2.8}{1.4} \times 10^{2-(-3)}

2 \times 10^5

Standard notation

2 \times 10^5 = 200000
