-27 + m = 3m + 9

move +m to the other side

side changes from +m to -m

-27+m-m= 3m-m+9 ( combine like terms)

-27= 3m-m+9

-27= 2m+9

move +9 to the other side

-27-9= 2m+9-9

-27-9= 2m

-36=2m

divide both sides by 2 to get m by itself

-36/2= 2m/2

Cross out 2 and 2, divide by 2 and then becomes 1*1*m= m

divide -36/2 by dividing by 2

-36/2= -18

2/2= 1

m= -18

Check answer by using substitution method

-27 + m = 3m + 9

-27+-18= 3(-18)+9

-27-18= -54+9

-45= -45

Answer:

m= -18

Hey!

------------------------------------------------

Steps To Solve:

-27 + m = 3m + 9

~Subtract m to both sides

-27 + m - m = 3m + 9 - m

~Simplify

-27 = 2m + 9

~Subtract 9 to both sides

-27 - 9 = 2m + 9 - 9

~Simplify

-36 = 2m

~Divide 2 to both sides

-36/2 = 2m/2

~Simplify

-18 = m

------------------------------------------------

Answer:

m = -18

Add integer help just explain
dusya [7]
Since -6 +6 can be rearranged to 6-6 using the communicative property, we get 6-6 =0 . In addition, -120+(-6) is essentially having -120+ 1*(-6), and 1 times a number is simply that number, so we have -120-6=-126

Complemetary angles are two angles whose measures add up to 90 degrees. The ratio of the measures of two complementary angles is
pochemuha

Let A and B be the two complementary angles.

A = smaller angle = 2x

B = larger angle = 13x

x = some unknown number

Note how the ratio A:B turns into 2x:13x which simplifies to 2:13

A+B = 90 ... because the angles are complementary

2x+13x = 90 ... substitution

15x = 90

x = 90/15

x = 6

A = 2*x = 2*6 = 12 degrees

B = 13*x = 13*6 = 78 degrees

The two angles are 12 degrees and 78 degrees.

Check:

A/B = 12/78 = (2*6)/(13*6) = 2/13, so A:B = 2:13

A+B = 12+78 = 90
