Answer:

<u>Within just 16 months</u> of arriving at the Wheatley home, Phillis was able to read  fluently the Bible. She also gained knowledge about astronomy and geography<em> (both ancient ant modern times). </em>She also learned about ancient history and appreciated literature regarding Latin classics. She was already into writing and could accomplish making verses.

Explanation:

Phillis Wheatly was an African American who was kidnapped and brought to Boston to serve as a slave for the Wheatley's family. Since she served as a personal assistant of John Wheatley's wife, she was then taught to read and write. She became <em>highly educated</em> that later on, she published her own book in 1773.

Mice21 [21]

Answer:

The phrase "an all-white jury" shows<u> how unfair and biased the justice system was during the 1930s. </u>"Racism" was the major issue in here because the men who were convicted were not judged fairly. There was not a single African American among the juries at first. The decision of death penalty was<em> also very quick.</em>

Explanation:

The question above is related to the "Scottboro Boys," a group of nine African American men who were wrongly accused of raping<em> two white women.</em>

The system was, obviously, unfair thus, a retrial was made. This time, African Americans became part of the jury. This led to a drop of the charges, but it still represented a "failure" when it comes to the justice system long time ago.

Enzo is writing an essay supporting longer resources in schools. He includes a statement from a doctor about how important physi
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer and Explanation:

The statement appeals to authority because it relies on the doctor's expertise on the subject of health to support the claim that longer resources are needed in schools. Appeal to authority is a fallacy in which something is claimed to be true because it is said or defended by a supposed expert, or authority, on the matter. A doctor is indeed an expert when it comes to the subject of health. Still, Enzo's statement can be seen as an appeal to authority, since he is indeed using the doctor's authority to support his opinion.
