Hailey received some cash for birthday. She spent $14.48 on a CD and donated $25.00 to charity. She put half of what was left in
DaniilM [7]
Work backwards.

After she put half of what she had left in, she had 17.76.

Multiply by 2:

17.76 * 2 = 35.52

Add 25:

35.52 + 25 = 60.52

Add 14.48:

75

So she received $75 on her birthday.

15. \frac{x}{5} - g = a

Add "g" on both sides

\frac{x}{5}  = a +g

Multiply 5 on both sides to get x by itself

x = 5(a + g)

x = 5a + 5g

18. a = 3n + 1

Subtract 1 on both sides

a - 1 = 3n

Divide 3 on both sides to get n by itself

\frac{a - 1}{3}  = \frac{a}{3} -\frac{1}{3} = n

21. M = T - R

Add "R" on both sides to get "T" by itself

M + R = T

24. 5p + 9c = p

Subtract "5p" on both sides

9c = p - 5p

9c = -4p

Divide 9 on both sides to get "c" by itself

c = \frac{-4p}{9} or c = \frac{-4}{9} p

27. 4y + 3x = 5

Subtract "4y" on both sides

3x = 5 - 4y

Divide 3 on both sides to get "x" by itself

x = \frac{5-4y}{3}

x = \frac{5}{3} -\frac{4y}{3}

J. Reexamine the sequence 20, 14, 8, 2, ... from the problem
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

The n th of the given sequence is t_{n} = 26-6 n

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1</u> :-

Given sequence is 20,14,8,2,.......this sequence in arithmetic progression but this sequence is decreasing sequence.

given first term is 20 and difference isd = second term- first term = 14-20=-6

now the nth term of given sequence is

by using formula t_{n}=a+(n-1)d

t_{n}= 20+(n-1)(-6)

t_{n}= 20-6 n+6

final answer:-

t_{n} = 26-6 n

<u>verification</u>:-

t_{n} = 26-6 n

put n=1 we get first term is 20

put n=2 we get second term is 14

put n=3 we get third term is 8

put n=4 we get fourth term is 2

so the n th term of sequence is

t_{n} = 26-6 n

Marcos make his famous salad Jackson by mixing 5 1/4 ounces of olive oil with one and a half ounces of vinegar. How much vinegar
Anika [276]

Answer:

8 ounces of vinegar

36 ounces of dressing

Step-by-step explanation:

Marco makes his famous salad Jackson by mixing 5 1/4 ounces of olive oil with 1 1/2 ounces of vinegar.

Olive oil                 Vinegar

5 1/4                           1 1/2

28                                x

Write a proportion:

\dfrac{5\frac{1}{4}}{28}=\dfrac{1\frac{1}{2}}{x}\\ \\5\dfrac{1}{4}\cdot x=28\cdot 1\dfrac{1}{2}\ [\text{Cross multiply}]\\ \\\dfrac{21}{4}x=28\cdot \dfrac{3}{2}\\ \\\dfrac{21 x}{4}=42\\ \\x=42\div \dfrac{21}{4}\\ \\x=42\cdot \dfrac{4}{21}\\ \\x=2\cdot 4\\ \\x=8\ ounces

Marco will make

28+8=36 ounces of dressing
