How do you write an equation in standard form given point (2,2) (0,-4)

Mathematics

The point-slope form:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We have the points (2, 2) and (0, -4). Substitute:

m=\dfrac{-4-2}{0-2}=\dfrac{-6}{-2}=3\\\\y-2=3(x-2)

The standard form:

Ax+By=C

y-2=3(x-2)        <em>use distributive property</em>

y-2=3x-6          <em>add 6 to both sides</em>

y+4=3x        <em>subtract y from both sides</em>

4=3x-y

<h3>Answer: 3x - y = 4</h3>

If a polyhedron has 5 faces and 7 vertices, then it must have how many edges? Please show step-by-step work
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Answer:

10 edges

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The Euler's formula state that: In a polyhedron, the number of vertices, minus the number of edges, plus the number of faces, is equal to two

V - E + F = 2

in this problem  we have

V=7\\E=?\\F=5

substitute the given values

7 - E + 5 = 2

solve for E

Combine like terms in the left side

12 - E = 2

subtract 12 both sides

- E = -10

Multiply by -1 both sides

E =10

$2.25x+$3.50=$35

so, $35-$3.50=$31.50

Then you divide $31.50 by $2.25

That equals 14

So, x=14
