The tension created by nonviolent direct action can lead to positive change according to Martin Luther King Jr. In fact, he seems to argue in his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" that this is the only thing that works. Without tension, people do not feel forced to change or even to negotiate, and they find it easy to ignore important issues. He argues that:

<em>"Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. It seeks so to dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored."</em>

<h3>What happened between Athena and Arachne?</h3>
  • Athena taught Arachne to knit.
  • Arachne got cocky about his knitting skills.
  • Arachne did not thank Athena and was superior to her.
  • Athena decided to punish her by turning her into a spider.

To write the first-person narrative, you must use Athena as the narrator and show how much she was willing to help Arachne, but she was extremely offended by her arrogant behavior, having no choice but to punish her. You must show how objective and resolute Athena is in her decisions and how much she expected Arachne to thank her.

An example of how to start your narrative can be seen below.

<em>Upon reaching Olympus I ran to tell Zeus how petty humans are and how much I never want to do them any favors again. Seeing my nervousness Zeus sat down and allowed me to tell what happened and that was when I started the story about Arachne and how I turned her into a spider.</em>

What does Antony say that anticipates the crowd's hostile reaction to Caesar?
iren2701 [21]
When Antony says D. I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him, that sentence anticipates the crowd's hostile reaction to Caesar.
Initially, they all loved Caesar, but over time, it turned out that his rule was weakening and that he was actually taking Rome down with him. This is something that Brutus didn't want to happen, so he had Caesar killed, even though he loved him as his best friend. These sentences are from Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar.

What is The purpose of the body paragraph in an aggressive essay?
DerKrebs [107]
<span>The body of the essayThe function of the essay's body is to fully develop the argument outlined in the introduction. Each paragraph within the body of the essay elaborates on one major point in the development of the overall argument (although some points may consist of a number of sub-points, each of which will need a paragraph). The main point in each paragraph needs to be clearly stated in the form of a topic sentence, which is then supported with evidence. Let's look at how the student's essay on why Italy in 1860 was seen as an unlikely nation developed (remember the argument is that Italy was seen as an unlikely nation because of the many obstacles in the way of unification). The example below shows only the first (or topic) sentence of each paragraph, and not the remaining sentences of each paragraph. This is to highlight the way the main points in the argument can be presented at the beginning of each paragraph to show the logical steps in the argument.</span>
