History

An association of persons with a particular skill or trade. For example, the electricians in an area may form a guild for mutual support, to route business to each other, or for other reasons. A guild contrasts with a union primarily because it includes both employers and employees; it is based on trade, rather than class. Guilds were most common in medieval Europe, but still exist and have a great deal of sway in some industries, notably filmmaking. Bar associations of lawyers and realtor groups may also be considered guilds.

Ivan the Great accomplished all of the following except:
Sophie [7]

The correct answer is "conquering Siberia and parts of Central Asia."

Ivan III "the Great" expanded his rule of the principality of Moscow by freeing and uniting the surrounding Russian principalities under the control of the Golden Horde. Also, he was keen on the Byzantine culture and even married a princess of the royal house of Constantinople, Sophia (Zoe) Paleologue. This prompted Ivan's spokesman to refer to Moscow as "the Third Rome."

The conquest of Central Asia territories and Siberia would be carried out by his grandson, Ivan IV "The Terrible."
