In the story "The Rockpile," two brothers (Roy and John) are not allowed to play on the rockpile. However, this is what all the children in the neighbourhood do. As Roy believes that this is a necessary part of living in the area, he decides to go anyway, and asks John to keep his secret. However, Roy is injured, and when he is brought home, it is John who is accused of being irresponsible.
