The first thing you do is distribute, so for example, (d), you would do 6 times 2 and 6 times 3 and get 18-18x+1 and then add 1 to 18 and get 19-18x then just divide -18 on both sides so 18 will cancel out and get 19/18 or 1.05 repeating.
Hopefully that helps

Jill and Jack are exercising at a beach. They both start from the car park at one end of the beach. Jill runs at a constant spee
mina [271]

Jack is at (2/3) of the length of the beach (measuring from the point where they started).

How far along the beach will Jack be when JIll next passes him?

Let's think that the whole beach is like a line track of length L.

We know that when Jill completes reaches the end (one complete run) Jack only completed half of it.

So in the time that jill covers the distance L, Jack covers a distance of L/2. So the ratio of their speeds is 2:1 (Jill's speed is double of Jack's speed).

At this point, Jill is on the end of the track and Jack is on the middle, so the distance between them is L/2.

Because of the ratios between the speeds, we know that when they meet again, Jill will have covered 2 thirds of that distance, and jack will cover the other third of that distance.

A third of that distance is:

(L/2)/3 = L/6

So, when they meet, Jack is at L/6 of the middle of the beach, which means that Jack is:

L/2 + L/6 = 3L/6 + L/6 = 4L/6 = 2L/3

Jack is at (2/3) of the length of the beach (measuring from the point where they started).

What is the equation in the slope intercept form of the line that passes through the point (2,-2) and is perpendicular to the li
Igoryamba

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope is 2/5 and the slope of the new line will be -5/2 because the negative reciprocal creates a perpendicular line. Use the point-slope form to write the equation, then simplify and convert into the slope intercept form.

(y--2)=-5/2(x-2)

y+2=-5/2x+10/2

y=-5/2x+5-2

y= -5/2x+3

Question - Find each f(c) using synthetic substitution. f(x) =5x 5 + 10x 4 + 3x 3 + 8x 2 – 6x – 3; c = 3
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

2157

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is

f(x)=5x^5+10x^4+3x^3+8x^2-6x-3

We want to find f(c) when c=3.

This means the remainder when f(x) is divided by x-3

We perform the synthetic division:

    5 10 3 8 -6 -3

3| 15 75 234 726 2160

    5 25 78 242 720 2157

Therefore the remainder is 2157

You are right

11>-2 \underbrace{\implies}_{+3} 14>1 \underbrace{\implies}_{+3} 17>4\underbrace{\implies}_{+(-4)} 13>0

3.

-2

4.

-4

Comments:

We can see that as long as we add/subtract any value to both sides nothing happens: true statements remain true and false statements remain false. But if we multiply or divide by negative values, false statements become true and true statements become false. That why, when you multiply or divide an inequality by a negative number, you should also flip the inequality sign. For example, if we start with the true inequality

-2

If we multiply both sides by -2 we have to flip the sign as well:

4>-2

And the inequality will remain true.
